Atlanta, Georgia, November 1, 2025 — Atlanta has unveiled a pioneering citywide programme to train and certify youth civic ambassadors, marking a significant step in fostering local government engagement among the city’s younger residents. Announced on 1 November 2025 by Mayor Andre Dickens at City Hall, the initiative aims to equip secondary school students with practical skills in leadership, public service, and civic participation.
The scheme, developed in collaboration with the Mayor’s Office of Constituent Services and several community organisations, will offer a series of workshops, mentorship sessions, and hands-on projects throughout the academic year. Participants will learn about city governance, community advocacy, and the importance of civic responsibility, culminating in an official certification ceremony in May 2026.
“We are investing in the next generation of leaders who will shape Atlanta’s future,” said Mayor Dickens during the launch event. The initiative is expected to engage over 200 students in its inaugural year, reflecting Atlanta’s commitment to empowering youth and strengthening community ties.
