Atlanta, Georgia, November 1, 2025 — Atlanta has joined forces with DeKalb and Fulton counties to establish a regional election security task force, marking a significant step in safeguarding the integrity of the 2026 statewide elections. The initiative, announced on 30 October 2025, brings together law enforcement, election officials, and federal partners to coordinate resources and share intelligence across jurisdictional lines. The task force will focus on proactive threat assessment, rapid response protocols, and enhanced communication between agencies to ensure safe and secure voting environments.
Leaders from all three counties emphasised the importance of collaboration, citing successful joint operations during recent elections as a model for future efforts. The task force will conduct regular training exercises, deploy advanced surveillance technology, and maintain a visible presence at polling locations and ballot processing centres. Officials noted that the partnership reflects a commitment to transparency, public trust, and the smooth functioning of democratic processes.
