Atlanta, Georgia, November 1, 2025 — The City of Atlanta has announced the formation of a new, independent Ethics Review Board, designed to oversee campaign conduct and address election-related complaints in advance of the upcoming municipal races this November. The board was officially established following the adoption of City Ordinance 25-O-1009 on 17 February 2025, marking a significant step towards enhanced ethical governance.
Comprised of five city residents nominated by leading legal, civic, and business organisations—including the Atlanta Bar Association and the League of Women Voters—the board members will serve staggered three-year terms. Each appointee is confirmed by the City Council and Mayor, ensuring a diverse and qualified panel dedicated to upholding the city’s Code of Ethics.
Monthly public meetings will be held at City Hall and broadcast live, promoting transparency and community engagement. City officials have expressed optimism that the board’s creation will foster greater public trust and ensure fair, open elections for all Atlanta residents.
