One man was killed after being stabbed at a Midtown Atlanta condominium property close to Piedmont Park, police stated.
Police were summoned to the location on 12th Street NE late Tuesday. When they got there, they found a man who had several stab wounds. Emergency medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.
Police say they believe that the stab wound occurred after there had been a family disturbance, but circumstances are still under investigation. One person of interest has been detained for questioning.
“We are still looking to determine what led to this terrible incident,” APD spokesman Sgt. Antonio Graves said. “There’s no immediate threat to the public right now.”
The victim’s identification has yet to be publicly disclosed pending family member notification. The incident remains under investigation, and police are urging anyone who has relevant knowledge to contact Crime Stoppers or Atlanta Police Department.
