Purchase will enable the City to expand recently opened Holland Park and protect Turnbull Creek

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, FL, September 24, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ — The land team of Ackerman & Co. and Pioneer Land Group has brokered the sale of 152 acres on Turnbull Creek in New Smyrna Beach, Fla., for $8.9 million.

John Speros and JT Speros of Ackerman & Co. and Kyle Gable of Pioneer Land Group represented the seller, Turnbull Land LLC. The buyer was The Trust for Public Land on behalf of the City of New Smyrna Beach.

The purchased property connects to the City-owned Holland Park, which opened in June 2018 and includes a 2.2-mile multi-use pedestrian trail, picnic areas and 18 acres of water features. The City currently intends for the land to be used as a passive park to be maintained in its natural state.

The 152 acres was previously entitled and planned for 293 residential building lots.

“With this property’s location adjacent to Holland Park and the environmentally sensitive Turnbull Creek, this was an opportunity for the City of New Smyrna Beach to expand the park and prevent negative impacts in the future on Turnbull Creek,” said John Speros.

The Ackerman/Pioneer Land Advisory Group has completed more than $300 million in land sales encompassing more than 15,000 acres.
